IBAN is the international standard for the numbering of bank accounts. It was created in order to facilitate international payments. IBAN may be of different length in particular countries. Polish account number in the IBAN standard consists of: country code (first 2 characters – PL), checksum (next 2 characters) and Basic Bank Account Number (BBAN).
